Maungdaw, Arakan State: Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) arrested 13 villagers on March 15, at about 2:00 pm from a video room – which show movies, sports, news  by taking money from viewer - at Kyauk Hlaga (Darga Para) village, said a local youth who denied to be named.
The victims were identified as---Moulana Moggul Ahmed (35), Dr. Akram (32), and 11 others villagers - not identified, from Kyauk Hlaga (Darga Para) of Maundaw north.
The Nasaka took the arrestees to their local out-post camp under Nasaka area number 6, after arrested, according to a relative of a victim.
The Maungdaw Township administration officer announced no permission to watch any things in video room during the period of the State High School (SHS) examination on March 12, said a village administration officer from northern side of Maungdaw.
“The SHS examination was started on March 13 in Maungdaw.”
In Maungdaw Township, only two examination centers at present, Maungdaw town has one and another one at Bawli Bazar, northern side of Maungdaw. But, the arrested villagers are 15-mile far away from the Bawli Bazar examination center and 6-mile away from Maungdaw center of town.
As a result, there will be no impact to the students as all the SHC students of the said village went either to Bawli Bazar or to Maungdaw town to sit for their examination, the village administrator further said.
However, the arrestees were sent to Nasaka Headquarters on March 17 from local Nasaka out –post camp where they were detained and tortured.
The concerned authorities of Burma harass and arbitrary arrest the Rohingya villagers as per their wishes. It is nothing but they want to drive out the Rohingya community from the Arakan soil, said a politician from Maungdaw town preferring not to be named.
